Party Secretary inspects upgrade work at Hoang Van Thu memorial sites
(LSO) – A working team led by Lam Thi Phuong Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee and secretary of the provincial Party Committee, inspected upgrade work at the memorial and commemorative sites dedicated to the late Party General Secretary Hoang Van Thu and other preparations for activities marking the late leader’s 110th birthday.
The People’s Committee of Van Lang district reported that a number of reparation items at the memorial site had been completed, such as the memorial house, waiting house, toilets, the external wall to the east of the site, greenery, a new gate and poles for light decoration.
Regarding the commemorative site, houses in the site have been repaired, external walls painted, electricity system rewired, and construction of a road leading to the site and the parking lot has been completed, with total value of nearly 6.5 billion VND.

The surface of the road section from Km0 to Km8, DH 17 (from Tan My to Van Thu and Diem He) has been repaired at the cost of nearly 4.9 billion VND.
So far, Van Lang district has carried out many communication activities to promote the anniversary in various forms such as the loudspeaker system, mobile radio broadcasting, banners and posters.
Speaking at the working session with Van Lang authorities, the Secretary of the provincial Party Committee commended the Hoang Van Thu commune for its efforts to prepare for the anniversary.

She said there is little time left so the People’s Committee of Van Lang district and the provincial Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism should accelerate work on remaining items in order to complete them on schedule. She singled out the reparation of the road leading to Hoang Van Thu commune and the installation of a welcoming gate at the T-junction at the entrance of Hoang Van Thu commune, which should be completed by October 20 at the latest.
She also instructed the installation of billboards, banners, posters and flags, along with more educational activities on Hoang Van Thu’s life, career and contributions to the Vietnamese revolutionary. The official reminded that attention be paid to environmental hygiene at the memorial and commemorative sites.
The provincial Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism was told to speed up the implementation of its assigned tasks, particularly decoration.
