Launching the peak month of propaganda campaigns to fight against and prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the cross-border areas of Lang Son
(LSO) – On August 1, in Xuat Le Commune, Cao Loc District, Lang Son Province, the Steering Committee of the Provincial Border Defence Force organized a ceremony to launch the peak month of propaganda aiming to raise people’s awareness of fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.
The launching ceremony was attended by Major General Phung Quoc Tuan, Deputy Political Commissar of Vietnam Border Guard, Mr. Duong Xuan Huyen, Vice Chairman of Lang Son Provincial People’s Committee, and other leaders of some departments and agencies of the province and Cao Loc district, as well as local people of 3 communes as namely as Cao Lau, Xuat Le and Mau Son.

At the launching ceremony, the leaders of the Provincial Border Guard Command required all of the cross-border posts to carry out synchronous measures consistently such as setting-up mobile inspection boots along the borders and controlling the trails with the aim to strictly control illegal immigration and crimes. Besides, it is important to provide the local people with updated information of the Covid-19 pandemic to fight and prevent the spread of the pandemic actively.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Major General Phung Quoc Tuan, Deputy Political Commissar of the Vietnamese Border Guard strongly recommended that the provincial Border Guard Command directed the cross-border posts to closely work with the Party committees and grassroots administrations to promote the propaganda campaign aiming to raise the local people’s awareness and responsibility of the pandemic prevention. The functional crossed border forces closely coordinate with the police, the military to strictly contain the borders and resolutely prevent illegal immigration activities, and at the same time take care of officials and soldiers spiritually and materially.

Additionally, Mr. Duong Xuan Huyen, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee requested that related Provincial Departments, agencies, committees, branches, district and commune authorities should intensify the implementation of prevention and control measures following the instruction of the Ministry of Health; promote the propaganda campaign, encourage the local people to fully obey the regulations of the Covid-19 pandemic prevention and control, and notify the local authorities and functional forces of illegal cases in order to take remedial actions.

The Steering Committee of the Provincial Border Defence Force worked as the Organizer to coordinate with functional forces to continue implementing strict regulations on immigration management and foreigners management, strengthening the inspection and control of cross-border gates, trails across the borders.
At the ceremony, representatives of households in the villages signed commitments to strictly implement measures to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.
After the launching ceremony, the functional forces immediately distributed face coverings, leaflets about the prevention and control of the Covid-19 pandemic to the local people, organized mobile propaganda activities in the area, spraying disinfectant to kill the Covid-19 virus at the Preschool of Xuat Le commune.
On this occasion, the Provincial Border Guard Command gave 20 gifts to disadvantaged households and 20 support grants to disadvantaged students.
